Every fashion designer needs a place to sew, sketch, and create. Don't just stop reading this and go do something else if you're not a fashion designer or don't want to be. You can turn this space into a place to crate any kind of craft. In this post I will include where not to and where to set up your designing space. In the next part I will list distractions to avoid keeping there and things your space needs. Stay tuned!
Where Set It Up:
You could set up this space anywhere in your house, but some places work better than others. Here are some example of where your designing space could be:
Where Not To Set Up:
- The Guest Bedroom. You could just set up a table in the corner of the guest bedroom. Or if you don't have guests over that much, convert the entire room into a designing space.
- The Office. You split your office into to parts: one side for designing and the other for regular office work like paying the bills and taxes and check booking and all that other boring stuff.
- The Laundry Room. Crazy as this sounds, this is a great option for those of you who are lucky enough to have a whole room for just a washer and a dryer.
- The Bedroom. You just set up a table and chair and get to work!
Where Not To Set Up:
- The Living Room. The living room has a lot of distractions. The TV, the window, the magazines on the coffee table.
- The Kitchen. You will most likely stop to get a snack or something too much. A snack every now and then is just fine though, as designing is hard work. There is also the possibility that something is spilled on your precious designs.
- The Bathroom. For obvious reasons I choose not to include.
- The Dining Room. How can you eat there if your designs are all over the table? Maybe you'll eat on the floor?
- Kids' Bedrooms. Do you really want them touching your stuff?
- Outside. Ever heard of rain? Oh? You have a screened in porch? That's nice. But there is still wind that could send your designs flying everywhere.
Really great! fashion
