Closet Clean Out: Shoes

Are you one of those people with a really messy closet? Always wanted to know how to organize and clean it? Well, you've come to the right place.
Remove these items from your closet and put them somewhere else:
  • Clothes that don't fit you anymore.
  • Clothes  you don't like or never wear.
  • Out of season clothes. For example, you won't need your sweaters in the middle of Summer.
  • Random items that don't belong in your closet.
Shoes If you keep your shoes in your closet, don't toss them all on the floor. Here are some other solutions you might want to try:

Cube
Over-the-door shoe organizers (above) can fit over most doors. Also, it works great for holding heels. The Downside:  They can be bulky and take up space. Plus, if you have curtains, sliding doors or open shelved closets, it doesn't work.  ( These can also hold kids toys or stuffed animals rather than them covering the floor or bed.)

  • Cube Organizers are great because you can see the shoes well. It can fit bigger items than the over the door organizer. The Downside: These can take up precious floor space and are quite large.
  • Shelves take up less space and can hold taller items like boots. The Downside: If shelves aren't built in you have to DIY or pay someone else to do it. Shelves eliminate space for long dresses and coats. Only a few shoes can fit on each shelf, depending on the size of your closet.
  • Shoe Racks take up less room than cube and can stack. They can also hold boots on top. The Downside: They can fall over. They're expensive.
  • Rotating Organizers can fit a lot shoes. The Downside: They're big and expensive. Image result for shoe organizer
