That is a good question and I will answer it with a few of my own. For what occasion will you be wearing this puffer coat to? How cold is the outdoor weather? Will you merely wear it outdoors and remove it once you come inside? What will you wear it with? All of these factors will determine whether or not the puffer coat is fashionable.
There are some places where it is perfectly acceptable to wear a puffer coat, and places where it is not.
Acceptable
- On a jog
- To the store
- Hanging out at a friend's
- Going to school
- Anywhere casual attire is recommended
Not Acceptable
- Going on a date
- Going out to eat
- At a job interview
- At work
- At a party
How cold the weather is doesn't matter to much, because everyone will understand if you wore a puffer coat when it's freezing out.
If you only wear the coat outdoors and take it off when you come inside, that is fine, unless it is a formal occasion.
Finally, what will you wear it with? When wearing a bulky jacket, it is best to wear skinny jeans or leggings in a matching, or at least coordinating, color. Your coat should match the bottoms, shoes, and top of the outfit. You should get a puffer coat in a classic color, such as black, gray, white, or navy. If you want to go bold, get one in a daring red, wild fuchsia, or bright blue.
