11 Things You Should Never Buy At A Thrift Store

As you might have noticed, I'm doing a series of posts on thrift stores. The first post was about why you should shop at thrift stores, and if you haven't read it, click here
  1. Hats. The last person that owned it might have had head lice and didn't wash the hat.
  2. Helmets. For the same reason as hats.
  3. Swimsuits. Swimsuits become baggy after lots of use, and the colors often fade from chlorine.
  4. Socks. Don't get them unless they're in their original packing.
  5. Makeup. Most makeup is cheap and you can just buy it new for better quality.
  6. Electronics. Sure, electronics are expensive if you buy them new, but used electronics can be damaged in ways that aren't immediately obvious.
  7. Groceries. Most groceries at thrift stores are molded, expired, or stale, so you probably should avoid them.
  8. Stained or damaged clothes. You can still get clothes, but keep an eye out for better quality.
  9. Puzzles. There's no way to know if an opened puzzle has all the pieces, so just buy unopened ones instead
  10. Tires. They may have some kind of internal damage, or might not fit your car properly. You're better off buying those new.
  11. Halloween costumes. Most costumes have adornments that may be destroyed if you wash it, so it's likely that the past owner didn't wash it.
If you have any questions, feel free to comment down below and ask them. Also, let me know what I should write about next!
