Blog To School Shopping: Here We Go Again

It's back to school again! As you may know, I have done blog to school specials two years in a row! Here are the links to the other back to school posts if you want to read them: Blog To School Again Supplies, Blog To School Again Styles, and Blog To School. This post is basically a summary of those two posts, just with more information. I'll start off with some tips for back to school shopping and fashion.
  1. Swap with your siblings and friends. If you have a sibling that is a similar size to you, you can swap clothes to save money. As long as you have a similar fashion sense and you can sometimes get along. The same thing goes with friends. You can swap clothes you grow out of or simply don't like anymore.
  2. Layer and accessorize. You can wear that same shirt and jeans every week and no one will notice if you follow this advice. Wear a cute jacket over the top, or wear a tank top underneath. Wear bracelets one day and a few chunky necklaces and a fabulous pair of earrings the next. This saves you from buying a ton of clothes because now you know how to change it up while wearing the same old clothes.
  3. Shop at thrift stores and consignment shops. They're much cheaper than the mall, and you can often get great finds! Here are some blog posts I wrote about thrift stores: Why You Should Shop At Thrift Stores,  11 Things You Should Never Buy At Thrift Stores, and 15 Tips And Tricks For Thrifting.
  4. Only buy school supplies in bulk if you really need them. If you won't use a 72 box of crayons, don't get it. This will save you money and space in your home.
  5. Take stock of what you already have. This way you don't make the mistake of buying something you already own.
  6. Compare prices. Don't buy all your supplies at one store, just to go to another and realize that all the supplies there are much cheaper. But save your energy on more expensive items like computers. $200 saved on a laptop is worth more time and effort than $1 on a binder.
  7. Try the dollar store. Everything there is, you guessed it, a dollar. But that doesn't mean it will be cheaper than other stores. Check other stores like Walmart or Target for higher quality items first.
  8. Follow stores on social media. Most stores will announce deals on social media. You can also get better deals at some stores by becoming a member. Sometimes that will cost money, and other times they'll just need your email.
  9. Set limits on how much you'll spend. For example, instead of getting a new backpack, lunchbox, and new clothes, stick to whatever you need the most. If you can, wait on new clothes until later in September and October when they're cheaper.
  10. Pay close attention to your school's supply list. That means if you have to get a certain type of calculator, you get that type so you don't have to return it.
  11. Limit the amount of fancy school supplies. I mean things like patterned folders, notebooks, and binders, lunchboxes and backpacks with the most popular cartoon on it, stuff like that.
That's it for this post! Let me know what you think! I really appreciate feedback. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them.
