Hair Extensions: Why Not to Wear Them

Even if you don't wear extensions, you should still probably read this post if you are considering getting extensions.

One of the most awkward interactions you can have with a stranger is them handing you a fallen extension. There's no doubt about it. Of course, it's probably awkward for them, too. Just imagine having to walk up to someone, holding their hair. And what do you even say? "Excuse me, miss, but you dropped your hair"?

Not only is it embarrassing if the extensions fall out, they can be pretty painful to put in. I personally have never gotten extensions, but I've heard that they hurt and take forever to put in.

Makeup is meant to enhance your face. Extensions are meant to add to your hair. However, it's kind of like lying, wearing extensions, in a way. Like you're pretending to have long hair. Oh, wait, that's exactly what you're doing!

Extensions are expensive! They can cost from $300-600, not including the actual hair. That's just they cost to put them in. If you want them done professionally, that is. Clip-in hair extensions are much cheaper and easier to put in, though they fall out easier.

Now, I'm not saying that I'm completely against extensions, because I'm not. They're cool to wear every once and awhile, like for fancy occasions. Different colored ones are pretty neat, and a nice alternative to dyed hair.

Please note:
This post is more of just a personal opinion than one having to do with fashion.
