Pop-out Pieces

All black outfits can be a little boring, right? What about an all black outfit, but with a cheetah-print or leopard-print scarf or bag? Much better. The bag or scarf would be a pop-out piece, the first thing you notice about the outfit. What about an outfit without any patterns? If the colors are varied, it can look exiting. But what if the outfit is in lighter, duller colors? Then it can be pretty boring. It needs a pop-out piece. I guess you probably have a few questions about pop-out pieces, so I'll try to answer them. Here we go.

Does every outfit need a pop-out piece? Certainly not. If you use color blocking, where there is a bright color next to a darker one(I'll post about this soon!😉), you don't need a pop-out piece because you already kind of have one(The bright color!). If the outfit has a variety of colors, you don't need a pop-out piece. If the outfit has a logo, multiple colors in one piece of clothing, or tie-die, it doesn't need a pop-out piece because, in a way, it already has one.

What is the point of pop-out pieces? So you're outfit doesn't get boring, of course. Who wants to wear a boring outfit. Plus, attention is immediately drawn to the pop-out piece, so you can highlight your best feature. (Patterned tights or pants draw attention to long legs, bright lipstick or eye makeup draws attention to your face, etc.)

Does a pop-out piece have to be an accessory? No. It can be an accessory, shirt, bottoms, makeup, or even a cool hairstyle.

Can I wear more than one pop-out piece? Yes, depending on the rest of the outfit. You can wear red lipstick and a patterned scarf, as long as the rest of the outfit is neutral. The pieces would need to be matching or complimentary so that they don't compete for attention.
